SPPS Schools and Programs Supporting The Community

SPPS Schools and Programs Supporting The Community

We are so proud of our entire SPPS community for supporting students and families during these challenging times.

Here are just a small number of the amazing things our schools are doing.

Students in ninth and 10th grades at Journeys Secondary volunteer weekly with Meals-on-Wheels, delivering meals to community residents. Students also volunteered to package meals for the Thanksgiving holiday. These students are helping to build and give back to our community.

The self contained Deaf/Hard of Hearing class, Autism class, and DCD classes at Humboldt High School organized a food drive and packed emergency food bags for families. They packed 50 bags to be delivered to families.

A heartfelt, gigantic thank you to all who have contributed to Bridge View School and Focus Beyond Transition Services food and supply drive so far! The schools have been blown away by the response. They continue to collect items to support students and families from both programs. The need continues to grow rapidly.

The state champion Como Park Senior High boys cross-country team was on hand at the Minnesota Wild game this week to collect book donations to benefit Saint Paul Public Schools students. Schools throughout the district are organizing supply drives, food shelves, volunteer opportunities and donations for families in need. Anyone interested in helping out with these efforts should work directly with the schools they are connected to.
