* Specialized Certified Classroom Teachers: Utilize curriculum which emphasizes development of functional skills
* Speech/Language Clinicians: Devise individualized feeding programs and augmentative communication systems.
* Occupational and Physical Therapy: Assist students in developing motor skills necessary to be successful in the home, school and community.
* Music Therapists: Compose music activities to enhance communication, social and motor skills, sensory awareness and self esteem.
* Developmental Adapted Physical Educator: Emphasizes a continuum of development through the use of diversified recreation and leisure activities.
* Full Time Nursing Staff: Supervise complex medical needs of students throughout the day.
* School Social Worker: Coordinates home/school/community resources and facilitates support groups.
* Additional Staff: Adaptive Equipment consults, Certified Vision Teachers, Child Development Technicians, Educational Assistants, and Teacher Assistants.
*Community and Transitional Facilitator: Involved with assisting with the transportation needs of students. Will be in charge of setting up the community program for students and will work with families to outline a futures plan for older students, as well as, helping facilitate the process towards graduation.
* Behavior Specialist: Works with teachers to provide strategies and choices for the students, and to create replacement behaviors that promote positive reinforcement.
* Workroom Teacher: Teaches students work skills that they will be able to use when they enter their post-secondary sites.

* Work experience in the community to provide work training: Store to Door, Prevent Child Abuse MN, Mad Hatter Tea Shop, Taco House and Boca Chica.
* Community experiences that provide educational/leisure opportunities: West Side Lanes, Rainbow foods, Rondo Library, Central Library, Mad Hatter Tea Shop, Courage Center, Walk-on Theraputic Riding Stables, and a yoga class at the Salvation Army.

Characteristics of the Education Program
* School Schedule: Nine month school year, Full day school program, Reduced hours if needed, Home delivered case management services available.
* Team Approach: Individual Educational Plan (IEP), Team Approach to implement IEP, Low staff turnover enhances stable environment, Administrative support for creativity.
* Parent Student Support Services: Support for students to make transitions, Student store and lounge area, Parent/care provider support groups, School Based Shared Decision Making Council, Parent Teacher Student Association, Emphasis on home/school/community communication.
* Fundraising Events/Special Projects: Annual Funfest, Linders flowers and plant sale, Enrichment products, Box Top for Education and Campbell Soup Labels. The KEMPS GIVE EM 5 milk caps and carton labels along with the Land O Lakes Save 5 cents For Schools. Target will donate 1% of all purchases made by individuals who have designated our school when they use their Target charge card.
