Students at Bridge View have the opportunity to partcicpate in the Community Based Program. Experiences are provided in the areas of Leisure/Recreation and Vocational Exploration. These experiences result in an increase in skill acquisition and improved work behaviors tied to IEP goals and objectives. Students learn a variety of tasks in diverse environments that lead to a more successful transition into other activities as well as post-school sites. Workroom Teacher: Teaches students work skills that they will be able to use when they enter their post-secondary sites.
Work experience in the community to provide work training include: Store to
Door, Prevent Child Abuse MN, Mad Hatter Tea Shop, Taco House and Boca
Chica.
Community experiences that provide educational/leisure
opportunities include: West Side Lanes, Rainbow foods, Rondo Library, Central
Library, Mad Hatter Tea Shop, Courage Center, Walk-on Theraputic Riding
Stables, and a yoga class at the Salvation Army.
