Functional communication skills are a key to greater independence for our students. Students are given consistent opportunities to make choices throughout the school day by selecting symbols or objects presented with whatever level of assistance each student needs. Students share information in a variety of ways during class. They may use symbols, gesture, sign, sounds, plus any available assistive technology. Students receive the support of an Educational Speech and Language Pathologist to enable them to perform to their maximun level of independence.
